Southwest Introduces P.A.W.S

One of the most popular airlines, Southwest, announced Friday that the will now be allowing pets to travel with us on board! Yay! I personally enjoy traveling with Southwest, and now my Bubby Boo can enjoy the comforts of flying with me! They are are calling the program P.A.W.S, or Pets Are Welcome on Southwest, and will only be allowing small cats and dogs in carriers that can fit under the passenger’s seat. The charge per carrier will be $75 one-way or $150 for roundtrip, but you will only be allowed one carrier per person. Each carrier can have two dogs or two cats (only if they are comfortable and get along please!), however, they won’t be allowing pets in the cargo section of the plane so larger pets who don’t fit in a small carrier can’t be accepted.
I’ve heard of some complaints from several people about this, especially those with allergies are a bit concerned. Currently, I seems that they will be having a 5 pet limit per flight so those who are sensitive to pet dander aren’t overwhelmed. Good idea! And don’t think you’ll be able to have your pet sit on your lap during the flight! Your pet will have to spend the entire time in the carrier for the safety of the other passengers and pets, and the will be enforcing this throughout your flight.

If you are planning on traveling by plane, and wish to have your pet accompany you, now you can consider using Southwest Airlines!
