Oprah’s Ivan Dies From Parvovirus
We were all THRILLED when Oprah announced that she had become a mom again whe she adopted cocker spaniel Sadie, and then again when she took home her brother Ivan. Unfortunately, last week little Ivan passed away due to the very contagious Parvovirus, and now sister Sadie is also fighting for her life.
Sadly, I’ve seen what this horrible disease can do, and the toll it takes on a family of a new puppy emotionally and financially. There is no cure, only symptom management. It is extremely contagious to young puppies, including those that are still undergoing their series of vaccinations.
My heart goes out to Oprah on her loss, and I hope that Sadie pulls through.
